More and more people are opting for facial plastic surgery. Even with the uncertainty of the national economy, the strength of the beauty  and facial plastic surgery economy tends not to waiver as one might believe.

Many people are surprised to learn that currently the most popular procedure I perform is also one of the more costly ones, facelifts. Facelifts are in high demand as I perform them weekly sometimes as many as twice per day.

Who is getting a facelift when times are uncertain one might ask? Many patients do not chose to have an elective facial cosmetic procedure merely on a whim. The patients who are having facelifts and other facial plastic procedures are typically those who have set aside savings or have thought about having a procedure for several weeks, months, or even years. Typically patients who are having facial plastic surgeries have sought medical counsel, have had private consultations and have discussed their options with those closest to them.

For many patients the process from considering to undergoing facial plastic surgery is one that involves overcoming fears, challenges, and thoughts that they may not have dealt with before. This decision-making process can be a cause of simultaneous excitement and anxiety. While the end result of the cosmetic procedure brings great reward and happiness to the patient, the decision to undergo surgery is usually the most challenging part of the surgery.

Once the decision has been made to have facial plastic surgery, (and this can take some time) most patients are able to set aside their fears and doubts and are reluctant to allow outward circumstances such as an uncertain economy affect their personal decision.

Other popular procedures of the summer were Rhinoplasty (nose jobs), Eyelid Surgery, and Otoplasty (ear pinning surgery). As Fall and Winter approaches we are likely to see more Rhinoplasty, Facelift, Eyelid, and Skin resurfacing such as Laser and Portrait skin rejuvenation requests.
