CoolSculpting was cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2010 as a safe method for reducing isolated pockets of resistant fat. The noninvasive technique is based on the science of “cryolipolysis,” using cold temperatures to freeze and destroy fat. Without harming surrounding healthy tissue, CoolSculpting damages fat cells, which are then metabolized and eliminated by the body naturally. The treatment can address isolated fat almost anywhere on the body, including the abdomen, flanks or love handles, inner and outer thighs, the lower back, upper arms and submental fat, also known as the double chin.
While CoolSculpting has always offered dramatic results for patients, the latest version of the technology available at Clevens Face and Body Specialists is even more effective and streamlined. The procedure now takes only 35 minutes to perform – about half the time of a session with an older device. With a selection of uniquely designed applicators, each contoured CoolSculpting hand-piece fits snugly against the target area, allowing for cooler temperatures, a more comfortable procedure and more consistent results.
