    The Arm Lift Procedure

    Your arm lift procedure will be performed in our state-licensed, nationally accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center. Our board-certified body contouring plastic surgery specialists perform arm lift surgery under general anesthesia, and the procedure lasts between two and five hours—depending upon your anatomy and specific treatment plan.

    We’ll place a hidden incision on the inner portion of the upper arm that typically runs from the armpit to the elbow, through which your surgeon will then remove unwanted fatty tissue and skin, before placing sutures along the incision to tighten your muscles and skin.

    During your evaluation, we’ll decide whether or not additional fat will need to be removed in addition to the tightening and removal of the skin. If needed, we can perform liposuction in conjunction with your arm lift surgery for even more impressive results.

    Recovery After Your Brachioplasty

    An arm lift is an outpatient procedure, meaning you’ll be free to return home the same day as your surgery. You’ll need a friend to drive you home as the anesthesia wears off.

    You may notice inflammation and bruising in your inner arm area, but this will subside over the course of a few days. Most patients can return to their active daily lifestyles within one week. It’s important to refrain from heavy lifting and exercise for six weeks. We’ll be available to you throughout your recovery process, helping you with aftercare instructions and addressing any concerns you might have.
